J.O.G:

The label "Jumping on Grenades" is a new label based in Tel-Aviv with a strong interaction with the music scene of Berlin. This label showcases a fresh dancefloor sound that wanders between the dark and the funky, the emotional and the minimal, the clear and the weird. J.O.G: the artists Rei Elbaz and Yiftach Giladi (aka J.O.G), are the founding artists of the J.O.G label. Both are minimal techno & house DJs / producers/ party promoters from Tel Aviv. They have been involved in techno and electronic music since 1996. Early in their careers, they co-founded the "100 Meters Beneath the Ground" collective. Based in the nation's capital, they threw the biggest and wildest underground raves in Israel. Even today, 100 Meters is known as one of the most innovative groups to come into the music scene of Jerusalem and their influence continues the shape the sounds in other groups which have carried on their legacy. Rei and Yiftach went on to found and resident the M1 techno parties in Tel Aviv, hosting many DJs from the global techno scene and have since based themselves in that city. Rei and Yiftach continue to perform live and DJ sets, delivering energetic, funky and emotional music that rocks any dancefloor in the country. Aside from their own performances, they are currently running minimal parties in Tel Aviv under a line known as Exercise together with three other DJ friends, hosting the best local and international DJs and performers. Exercise was recently voted the most popular new line to come into the Israeli music scene. Rei and Yiftach have been producing their own music for the past eight years. During 2004-5 they moved to Berlin and played there in numerous main venues including Tresor and S036, gaining contacts and co-operations with many DJs and musicians in Germany. J.O.G's last two releases can be found on two different compilations: one under a Redbull compilation, called "undercurrents," while a second track was released on the C-Sides Festival compilation in 2006, the tracks received worldwide distribution. Additional tracks have also received international acclaim as part of a 1 hr videomix available for download via cable TV V.O.D. Their new label, Jumping on Grenades, will produce its first release worldwide in September 2007. Following their debut, new tracks will be released each month.
